Salt + Smoke to Open New Dining Concept “Oh Hey! Barbecue” Inside Kirkwood, Missouri Schnucks
The innovative dining experience will bring a St. Louis’s favorite to the newly-remodeled store’s Food Hall

KIRKWOOD, Mo., Sept. 28, 2022 Later this fall, Salt + Smoke will open its first new to-go and counter service dining concept inside Schnucks Kirkwood located at 10233 Manchester Road (63122). The new barbecue concept called “Oh Hey! Barbecue” will bring classic Salt + Smoke favorites as well as new menu items.

“We’re humbled and thrilled to be partnering with Schnucks, alongside some of our favorite restaurants in the city,” explained Tom Schmidt, owner, lead busser and all around swell guy of Salt + Smoke. “With Oh Hey! Barbecue, we’re going to bring St. Louisans their familiar favorites from Salt + Smoke, like our smoked brisket and white cheddar cracker mac, but we’ll be adding new items like onion rings and baby back ribs and offering new versions of our famous sides.”

Schmidt says the idea behind Oh Hey! Barbecue is to offer customers the chance to pick up their favorite Salt + Smoke items for themselves and their families while shopping for their groceries or the opportunity to stop by during their lunch break to grab something quick and delicious to eat. He added that Oh Hey! Barbecue will also be a much more convenient hub to service the delivery and carry out needs of that part of St. Louis County.

“We welcome Oh Hey! Barbecue to our store and to the Kirkwood community – a city that we have served for nearly 70 years,” said Schnucks Kirkwood Store Manager Eric Pritchett. “Our communities depend on local businesses, and they, in turn, depend on Schnucks, and that’s why we continue to partner with local restaurants, farmers and vendors to support the best the Midwest has to offer and provide these products to our customers.”

Oh Hey! Barbecue will join other local favorites Seoul Taco and The Greek Kitchen in the Schnucks Food Hall and will occupy the space vacated by The Shaved Duck earlier this year. Opened in 2021, the Food Hall offers each restaurant partner a small service counter and common seating and dining area.
