French toast is better when it’s stuffed with peanut butter and jelly.

Ingredients

  • 2 Schnucks large eggs
  • ¼ cup Schnucks vitamin D whole milk or whipping cream
  • ½ tsp Schnucks vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp McCormick┬« ground cinnamon
  • Salt, to taste
  • 4 slices Texas toast or whole grain bread
  • 3 tbsp preferred jelly
  • 3 tbsp creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp Schnucks unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup Schnucks pure maple syrup
  • Schnucks powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
  • Instructions

    1. In shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and salt.
    2. Evenly spread 2 slices bread with jelly; evenly spread remaining 2 slices bread with peanut butter. Press jelly and peanut butter sides of bread together to make 2 sandwiches.
    3. Dip both sides of sandwiches into egg mixture.
    4. Heat griddle or large skillet over medium heat; add butter and melt. Add sandwiches and cook 5 minutes or until golden brown, turning once.
    5. Serve dusted with powdered sugar, if desired, and syrup.
