Schnucks Pulls Select Onions Due to Possible Salmonella Newport Contamination
Schnuck Markets, Inc. has been informed that one of its suppliers, Onions 52, Inc., received and distributed onions from California producer, Thomson International. Red onions from Thomson International are being investigated as a possible source of a Salmonella Newport outbreak.
Schnucks has pulled all onions received from Onions 52 and urges customers to check for the following onions/products purchased June 26 – Aug. 1, 2020:

All affected products have been pulled from the sales floor. Onions currently being sold at Schnucks are not affected at this time.

Please note that this does not affect onions sold at Schnucks stores in Rockford, Illinois, DeKalb, Illinois, Janesville, Wisconsin and Bettendorf, Iowa.
