Grocer to host pantry volunteers for personal care item donation drive April 24 – 25

COLUMBIA, Mo., April 22, 2021 EatWell, A Natural Food Store by Schnucks, is excited to announce a new partnership with the University of Missouri Tiger Pantry. The EatWell team will join the food pantry on its mission to assist, educate and empower those facing food insecurity within the University of Missouri community.

The pantry is located on campus, very near the EatWell store, and serves more than 1,000 individuals a semester by providing food staples and perishables as well as cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items.

The store will provide monthly food donations to the pantry, and volunteers from the pantry and store teammates will be onsite at the store (111 South Providence Road) Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day to engage with customers for personal care item donations.

“From the moment we opened the doors here at Eat Well, the entire team has been wanting to help those in need in this community and this is yet another opportunity for us to do just that,” said EatWell Store Manager Chuck Murphy. “With our proximity to the MU campus and downtown Columbia community, we serve as both a natural living grocery store, but also the neighborhood grocery store. This partnership lets us truly nourish people’s lives right here in the community we serve.”

“Tiger Pantry is very excited for this partnership with EatWell to expand our nutritional offerings,” said Brady Peters, Tiger Pantry student director. “By working with partners such as EatWell, Tiger Pantry can better serve and meet the needs of individuals experiencing food insecurity in the Mizzou community.”
