Good Gravy

Whether you’re serving turkey, beef or ham, we’ll show you how to make a delicious gravy using all of those yummy leftover juices and bits plus a few add-ins.

Good Gravy
  1. Start by adding 1/4 cup of pan drippings from roast to a large pan over medium heat. Warm until melted.
  2. If desired, add 1 cup chopped onion or mushrooms (or 1/2 cup of each) to the pan and sauté until softened, 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in 1/4 cup flour and cook until flour browns slightly, 2-3 minutes.
  4. Next, choose your flavor from the options below these steps and gradually whisk into the sautéd mixture.
  5. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring frequently, about 5 minutes or until thickened.

Turkey


  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 2 tbsp. chopped fresh sage
  • 2 tbsp. chopped fresh thyme

Beef


  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 tbsp. chopped fresh rosemary

Ham


  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 tbsp. whole-grain mustard
  • 1 tsp. ground cloves
